Bodies, Identities and Intersections: Call for Submissions
Proposal deadline: October 24, 2021 *

“When our personal value is dependent on the lesser value of other bodies, radical self-love is unachievable.”
― Sonya Renee Taylor, The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love

The Education Graduate Students of Colour’s Counter-Narrative Journal is seeking submissions for our Winter 2022 issue. We are seeking submissions from BIPOC MA, MEd (course-based or MRP) and PhD students at the Faculty of Education. This edition will examine bodies, identities and intersections. In particular, the journal aims to centre #OwnVoices and personal lived experiences. The final submission may take multiple formats, including poems, essays, research papers or reviews. Potential submissions may focus on (but are not limited to): intersections between race, nationality, (de)colonization, disability, class, gender and other identities.

Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and submitted via email as an attachment either as a PDF or Word doc. Abstracts must include: a working title for the submission, your name, and program.

Final submissions will be submitted for peer review and authors will receive a $100.00 honorarium.

For submissions and related inquiries, please email the EGSC at: egsc.uottawa@gmail.com and include "Counter-Narratives" in the subject line.

*Accepted abstract proposals will be contacted by EGSC on October 29, 2021.
