The Fall Institute comes from an idea inspired by The Reproductive Justice Primer: A Summer Institute by SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. Each year, it focuses on a central theme that is contextual and relevant for graduate students, teacher candidates, and teachers. As a way to support graduate students, we prioritize facilitators that are GSCs or other BIPOC peoples with an interest in anticolonialism and antiracism. Furthermore, we want to counter this problematized notion that only "academic and scholarly" work is worthy. We reject this notion, and, as much as possible, resist the inherently oppressive academic landscape.
